The incident took place on Friday, Dec. 14, at the store at 138 Heights Road, said Det. James Palmieri.
Once on the scene, the store manager told officers that four men had been in the store earlier in the day, and had returned just prior to the police being called. One of the men seemed to be suspiciously lingering in one of the medication isles, Palmieri said.
When the manager confronted the man to ask if he needed assistance, the man said he did not and quickly walked out of the store.
A review of the security camera footage showed the suspect stealing approximately six boxes of Nexium brand heartburn medication. The suspect then leaves the store without paying for the medication.
The total loss to the store was estimated to be $179.94.
